Jaggi Entertainment announce cast and production commencement of new romance filming in Melbourne, Australia
Jaggi Entertainment is delighted to announce that cameras are rolling in Victoria on their latest feature film, a heartfelt romantic comedy set against the backdrop of Australia’s cultural capital, Melbourne.
Directed by Colin Budds (A Vintage Christmas, Romance at the Vineyard) Her Aussie Romance stars Mallory Jansen (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Galavant) as Georgie, a driven New York-based travel journalist who discovers that life’s greatest journeys can’t always be planned. Jansen, who also wrote the screenplay, brings a deeply personal touch to the story. Opposite her is acclaimed Australian actor Ryan Corr (House of the Dragon and Kangaroo), playing Zach, a former AFL star finding his footing beyond the football field.
Joining the cast is Gyton Grantley (Underbelly, House Husbands), Alinta Chidzey (Moulin Rouge! the Musical, Wentworth) Jessica Clarke (Clickbait, The Secret She Keeps), and much-loved entertainer Dannii Minogue (Neighbours, The X Factor UK).
Set in both the vibrant streets of Melbourne and the hidden gems of regional Victoria, the film follows Georgie as she travels to Australia on assignment, only to find her meticulously planned trip upended by Zach, whose easy-going charm and local knowledge encourage her to slow down and embrace life’s unexpected turns. Their journey together sparks connection, transformation, and romance, leading Georgie to question what truly matters most.
Producers Steve Jaggi and Kylie Pascoe said they are thrilled to bring another international co-production to Australia.
“Melbourne is the perfect setting for this story,” said Jaggi. “Its blend of cosmopolitan energy, laneways, AFL and nearby natural beauty is a character in itself, and we’re excited to showcase it on screen for global audiences too.”
“As a Victorian-based producer, I’m especially proud to be filming here at home,” said Pascoe. “This project celebrates the incredible talent, creativity, and landscapes that make Victoria such a unique place to tell stories from.”
Jansen, who also acts as executive producer on the film added: “I grew up here in Melbourne, so it holds a very special place in my heart. I wrote this film as a way of showing off our gorgeous city. It’s the perfect backdrop for Georgie’s journey and I’m excited for audiences to experience the city I love, just the way we have while in production.”
VicScreen CEO Caroline Pitcher welcomed the production, highlighting its economic and cultural contribution to Victoria.
“We’re proud to support this international co-production, which will employ local cast and crew, showcase Melbourne’s iconic locations, and further cement Victoria’s reputation as a world-class screen destination,” she said.
Production will take place across Melbourne and surrounds, with distribution in Australia through Jaggi Entertainment Distribution, and internationally through Hallmark Media. It is set to premiere in the United States in 2026 on Hallmark Channel.
The production is also supported by Screen Queensland’s Post, Digital and Visual Effects (PDV) Incentive.
